We have a warm, sunny Sunday ahead! Early morning clouds will clear as temps start to climb. Any threat for showers and thunderstorms stays to the north. Highs climb to the mid 90s with a breezy south wind at 10 to 20 mph, gusting close to 30 mph at times. Higher humidity will bring heat index values close to the triple digits at times.
Today is just a small taste of what the upcoming week holds.
Summer takes hold
A strong ridge along with southerly winds takes control over our weather by Sunday. Highs jump back into the low 90s.
After that, highs soar into the upper 90s and near the century mark for early parts of next week. Unfortunately, this pattern not only brings the heat, it also brings dry weather, which is not doing any favors for our drought.
