August heat has arrived!
Quick Notes:
- Hottest temps of the season so far possible
- Slight relief late week and this weekend
- More triple digits next week
August feeling like...August
A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of North Texas lasting through Thursday at least. An Excessive Heat Warning, a step up from a Heat Advisory, is in effect for a handful of counties in western North Texas. High temps in the Excessive Heat Warning could be 105° or hotter.
The rest of North Texas is under a Heat Advisory where actual temps could be up to 105° and heat index values will be between 105° and 110°.
Thursday looks to be the hottest day this week and this summer so far before a little relief arrives Friday into this weekend. On Friday, a disturbance and a weak front will cause more clouds to be out there and there could even be few pop up showers or storms in the area as well. It will still be hot, but likely not as hot as the middle part of the week.
