DALLAS — As strong wind and storms moved through North Texas Monday morning, it caused several incidents across DFW, emergency officials reported.
Several tractor-trailers were involved in accidents on North Texas roads in Denton and Irving, according to emergency officials.
Two trailers blew over in the southbound lanes on Interstate 35 at Milam Road in Denton, according to the Denton Police Department. One of the trailers landed on the bed of a pickup truck, police said.
No one was injured in the crash, police said. The highway was closed around 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
"Drivers should seek another route for the next couple of hours as we work to clear the scene," police said in a press release.
Another 18-wheeler flipped over around 9:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 due to high winds on Interstate 635 near Valley View Lane in Irving, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
As of 10 a.m., all lanes remained closed, according to TxDOT. No one was injured in the crash, officials said.
Somervell County Fire Department responded to multiple incidents caused by high winds, the department said in a social media post. An attached photo shows two trailers flipped over in a Somervell County RV park.
In Granbury, WFAA viewer David Bryant captured photos of damage, downed trees and AC units flipped on their side by the wind.
Other viewers reported strong winds damaging homes and buildings in Granbury. Emergency officials responded to a damaged home in Hood County, according to a video courtesy of viewer Peyton Smith.
