Sunday night - Monday

Our next chance of rain arrives Sunday nigh in the form of light, scattered showers. Scattered rain will linger into Monday mainly across eastern and southeastern North Texas. None of this will be severe.

The farther west/northwest you are in North Texas, the less likely it is for you to see rain. The farther east/southeast you are in North Texas, the more likely it is you see rain.

1st arctic blast of the season

We continue to have confidence that a blast of arctic air will arrive in North Texas late next week.

This does not look to be nearly as long-lived or as cold as February 2021!

Temps below freezing for a day or two look possible with the coldest day being Friday. On Friday, morning temps will be in the teens and perhaps the single digits for some. Factor in a breeze and it could feel like below 0° first thing in the morning.

Chances for wintry weather look low at this point, but it is not impossible for some flurries or sleet to accompany the front on Thursday.

The exact timing and strength of the front still are not set in stone, so keep checking back for updates!

However, it is never too early to start planning ahead. Especially if you are going out of town for the holidays and will not be home late week. You need to prep before you leave town!
