FORT WORTH, Texas — Looking for a weekend getaway? Or a staycation? North Texas has many options for accommodations, but there’s one spot in North Fort Worth that’s really taking off.
It’s one of the most unique AirBnBs around.
“Being at an active airport, at an active airport hangar, we get so many people that say that’s the only reason they chose it because it’s so unique,” said owner Ray McTaggart.
Located at a small, private airport, the 3,600 square-foot home is located inside an airplane hangar. Guests can eat at the airport’s restaurant and watch planes takeoff and land all day long.
“Planes are constantly coming and going,” McTaggart said.
Inside McTaggart’s hangar is a five-bedroom residence with a large kitchen, even larger living room and, of course, planes.
The home can accommodate up to 12 guests or host family reunions or company retreats.
Guests can stay as little or long as they’d like, but those who stay long enough get an added bonus.
“If anyone books three or more nights with us, we get them up for a complimentary flight over Fort Worth,” McTaggart said.
McTaggart says it’s truly one of a kind. It’s so unique, you’ll wish you could stay forever.
“I would live here in a heartbeat,” he said.
Sometimes finding the perfect getaway takes time and sometimes the best plans are up in the air.
