DALLAS — Millions of people will be traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.
AAA estimates 4.4 million people across the country will travel by plane, and 267,000 Texans will fly between Wednesday and Sunday.
Both Dallas Love Field Airport and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are expected to be crowded, but among the mess of canceled and delayed flights, there is happiness and reunion at the airport too.
“I’m feeling overjoyed and just ready to put my arms around her,” said Karen Ballweg of Allen.
She and her husband, Dale, waited at Love Field to pick up their daughter flying in from Portland. It’s been more than a year since Dale saw her.
Desiree Suggs stood for half-an-hour waiting on her step-daughter and son to arrive from Amarillo.
“I feel like I’m about to cry. They are just so awesome,” she said.
They screamed as they ran toward her, leaving the terminal.
As frustrating as travel and delays can be, for many families, it’s worth the wait.
