Disruptive passenger diverts American Airlines flight from Dallas, airline says

The flight was headed to Bozeman, Montana, but was diverted to Amarillo, according to the airline.

DALLAS — An American Airlines flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Bozeman, Montana, was diverted and landed in Amarillo "due to a disruptive customer," the Fort Worth-based airline confirmed to WFAA.

According to American, law enforcement met the plane at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport in Amarillo and "the customer exited the aircraft." The flight re-departed shortly thereafter, an American Airlines spokesperson told WFAA.

ABC7 in Amarillo spoke with other passengers on the flight, who captured video of the man being removed from the plane. According to ABC7, witnesses said a disruptive passenger got into a fight with the flight attendant, throwing multiple punches before being tackled by other passengers.

"Acts of violence are not tolerated by American Airlines and we are committed to working closely with law enforcement in their investigation," the American Airlines spokesperson told WFAA in a statement.

American Airlines also told WFAA that there were no injuries reported.
