Dallas Love Field evacuated Saturday after a fire alarm was activated

A fire alarm was activated Saturday morning prompting an evacuation, and flight delays. TSA lines are now re-open.

DALLAS — A fire alarm prompted evacuations and flight delays at Dallas Love Field on Saturday.

A fire alarm was activated Saturday morning in a mechanical room at Dallas Love Field Airport, according to a statement from the airport on X. The alarm prompted some travelers to evacuate, according to several social media posts.

Airport staff and Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the scene, the statement reads. No fire was reported, and the cause of the alarm is still under investigation, according to the statement.

As of 10:55 a.m., TSA screening lines have re-opened, the airport said.

"Passengers may experience slight delays with rescreening, but no other impacts have been reported," the statement reads.

A fire alarm prompted a separate evacuation of Love Field Airport in July. That evacuation was caused by a security machine catching fire, which was quickly put out.

So far, Dallas Love Field has experienced 52 delayed flights and zero cancellations today, according to Flight Tracker.
