DALLAS — It's been a rough start to the summer travel season.
After a set of storms rolled through Dallas-Fort Worth on Wednesday and Thursday, the airports in the area were experiencing more cancellations and delays than normal.
On Wednesday, 153 flights scheduled to leave North Texas' two major airports were cancelled and 397 were delayed, according to FlightAware. One hundred flights coming to DFW were cancelled and 365 were delayed.
The flight woes continued on Thursday.
According to FlightAware, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport had 120 cancellations (12%) and 128 delays (13%) as of Thursday morning. Dallas Love Field had 23 cancellations (7%) and eight (2%) delays in its own right.
This week's cancellations followed thousands of cancellations nationwide over the Memorial Day weekend.
Delta Air Lines canceled the most flights among major U.S. airlines over the weekend, according to the Associated Press.
On Thursday, American Airlines had the most flights canceled among major U.S. airlines, according to FlightAware.
