American Airlines adds 3 new flights from DFW Airport, including the longest in its network

The Fort Worth-based airline on Thursday announced three new direct flights from North Texas' largest airport.

DALLAS — American Airlines is offering another flight down under, direct from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The Fort Worth-based airline on Thursday announced three new direct flights from North Texas' largest airport: Brisbane, Australia (BNE); Veracruz, Mexico (VER); and Rio de Janeiro (GIG).

American also announced it's bringing back daily service to Kona, Hawaii (KOA).

The offerings will be seasonal, starting in June with the Veracruz flights and October for the others.

American already has flights from DFW to Sydney and Melbourne, but the new service to Brisbane, which begins Oct. 27, will be the airline's first direct DFW flight to Australia's third-largest metro area.

And the flight will be American's longest nonstop flight, not just from DFW but from anywhere in American's network.

The Brisbane service will have the added benefit of making it easier for other travelers around the U.S. to get down under. More than 100 locations will now be able to connect through DFW to the Brisbane flight.

American's new daily service to Veracruz starts June 12, while the flights to Rio de Janeiro and Kona, Hawaii, start Oct. 27.

“American is thrilled to grow our international network to give customers more ways to escape the cold next winter,” Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning, said in an American press release. “Together with Qantas, customers can enjoy more ways to explore new destinations across one of the most comprehensive networks connecting the United States and the South Pacific.”
