ROANOKE, Texas — A train derailment shut down southbound lanes of U.S. 377 in Roanoke on Tuesday morning, police said.
The derailment happened near Byron Nelson Boulevard in Roanoke. Police said crews expected southbound 377 to be shut down for most of the day as they worked to clean up the incident.
No injuries were reported.
Union Pacific officials said the derailment happened around 3:35 a.m. near Henrietta Creek and Benson roads in Roanoke. Four train cars derailed, and three were carrying coal. Nothing was released from the derailed cars, the company said.
Officials were still investigating how the derailment happened.
