Suspect still at-large after pedestrian was killed in hit-and-run crash, police say

A pedestrian was hit while crossing an intersection in a marked crosswalk, police said. One suspect is still at-large.

RICHARDSON, Texas — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on the access road of South Central Expressway in Richardson, police said. 

Officers responded to a crash around 1:55 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of West Spring Valley Road and East Frontage Road the South Central Expressway, Richardson Police said in a press release. 

A Cadillac SUV was driving northbound off Frontage Road when it was hit by a Kia Sedan traveling westbound on West Spring Valley Road, according to the release. After the crash, the Cadillac continued forward and hit a pedestrian walking in a marked crosswalk, police said. 

The initial investigation suggests the driver of the Cadillac may have run a red light, causing the crash, police said. 

The pedestrian died at the scene, police said. Officials did not immediately release the name of the victim. 

Two people ran away from the scene on foot after the crash, police said. One suspect was arrested by officers and the other suspect remains at large, the release states. The driver of the Kia was uninjured. 

Richardson police are investigating the incident.
