DALLAS — Have weekend plans in Dallas? Continued work on the Dallas North Tollway will lead to some closures.

All southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway from I-635 to Walnut Hill Lane will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge maintenance work.

The northbound left lane of the tollway from Park Lane to Royal Lane will also be closed during that time, as will all lanes of east and westbound Meaders Lane over the DNT and the following ramps:

  • East and westbound I-635 to southbound DNT direct-connector ramps
  • The southbound Royal Lane exit ramp
  • The southbound Harvest Hill Road, Inwood Road, Forest Lane and Royal Lane entrance ramps

Drivers heading eastbound on Meaders Lane will be detoured to turn north on Inwood Road, and make a right on Royal Lane, before turning right at Preston Road and continuing to Meaders Lane.

Drivers heading westbound on Meaders Lane will be detoured to turn north on Preston Road, make a left on Royal Lane, then turn left at Inwood Road and continue to Meaders Lane.

Message boards will be in place to alert drivers of the closures. All closures are subject to weather conditions. Drivers are asked to use caution in the construction area.

“Crews are expected to complete repair work this weekend to fix damage caused by a truck transporting over-sized construction equipment that struck and damaged the bridge,” the North Texas Tollway Authority said in a statement.
