DALLAS — This is a developing story and will be updated throughout the morning.
All lanes of Interstate 35E have reopened near Continental Avenue following a deadly auto-pedestrian collision in Dallas.
A woman was in the left lane of northbound I-35E when she was struck by a black Dodge pickup and knocked into a southbound lane, the Dallas County Sheriff's Office says.
The driver, who stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation, came over a hill and didn't have time to react to the person in the lane.
Sheriff's officials say they don't expect charges against the driver of the truck.
Immediately following the crash at 4 a.m., all southbound and some northbound lanes were closed as multiple agencies investigated the incident. The southbound exit from the Dallas North Tollway to I-35E had also been shut down for a time.
