Major crash shuts down Texas 114 through Irving, police say

Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed debris on the roadway and a vehicle that was turned over upside down.

IRVING, Texas — A major crash involving a turned-over vehicle had shut down the westbound lanes of Texas 114 through Irving on Wednesday morning, police said.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. near Esters Boulevard, just northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed debris on the roadway and a vehicle that was turned over upside down.

More information about how the crash happened, or how many vehicles were involved was not immediately available. 

Police confirmed that officers were forcing westbound traffic off Texas 114 at Esters. They didn't know how long the highway would be shut down but recommended that drivers avoid the area on their morning commute.
