IRVING, Texas — Early Thursday morning, TxDOT employees noticed a pile of discarded concrete materials along the far-right eastbound lane of IH-635 at North MacArthur Boulevard.
They believe the pile of materials may have been dumped by a driver overnight. The debris partially blocked traffic trying to exit to the service road.
Cleanup crews made it to the intersection shortly before noon, and eastbound traffic on IH-635 was reduced to one lane as workers cleared the interstate. The partial closure caused traffic to back up for about a mile. The scene was cleared by 2 p.m.

Illegal dumping/littering goes against the Texas Litter Abatement Act. Large abandoned piles of debris can carry heavier consequences.

Those who witness illegal dumping/littering are urged to report it to their local city government. Residents can also report littering incidents by using either the TxDOT website or the Don’t mess with Texas Report a Litterer mobile app.
