GARLAND, Texas — The east and westbound lanes of Interstate 30 in Garland were closed off on Monday as police handle a deadly accident on the highway.
Police reported the accident on I-30 near Broadway Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. Monday. The highway was reopened shortly after 9:30 a.m.
The department tells WFAA that an 18-wheler was driving in the eastbound lanes when it struck a concrete barrier and crossed into the westbound lanes.
Police said one person has died as a result of the accident. Investigators have been looking into the cause of the crash.
