GARLAND, Texas — Two people died in a crash in Garland on Monday morning, police said.
The crash involved a truck and a car in the area of South First and Washington Streets, between West Miller Road and Avenue D.
Garland police tweeted about the crash around 7:20 a.m. One person died at the scene and another person was taken to the hospital. Police also said one of the drivers is facing charges in the crash; their condition was not released.
The crash shut down both directions of First Street as crews responded. The road was closed for about two hours until it reopened shortly before 9:30 a.m., according to police.
