FORT WORTH, Texas — Two crashes had traffic backed up on separate highways in Fort Worth early Thursday afternoon.

Crashes on I-30 eastbound and Oakland Boulevard and on U.S. 287 northbound at Vickery Boulevard were to blame.

I-30 eastbound traffic around 1 p.m. was still backed up all the way to downtown Fort Worth as a result of an accident just before the Oakland Boulevard exit. Texas 180 was moving much faster and could be a possible alternate route for those trying to avoid the traffic.

On U.S. 287 in Fort Worth, the highway was closed at Vickery Boulevard due to a jackknifed 18-wheeler. All northbound traffic was being diverted to Vickery. Traffic was backed up for several hours until it was cleared shortly before 4 p.m.
