FORT WORTH, Texas — A passenger died in Fort Worth early Tuesday morning after a vehicle lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier, falling from an Interstate 35W overpass to a State Highway 121 ramp, police said.
Fort Worth police responded to the major accident at about 12:46 a.m. The driver was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The crash caused police to shut down the north and eastbound lanes of I-35W and State Highway 121 for several hours overnight. All lanes reopened around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Officers believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a concrete barrier and fell off of the overpass.
