Man dies after being hit 'possibly by multiple vehicles' while trying to cross freeway on foot, police say

The fatal auto-pedestrian crash shut down westbound lanes of Interstate 30 on Friday morning.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Westbound lanes of Interstate 30 at Country Club were shut down Friday morning after a man was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash, officials confirmed to WFAA.

Emergency crews responded to the 5300 block of East Freeway westbound for the crash at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. MedStar confirmed to WFAA one person was dead at the scene. Fort Worth police told WFAA a man was hit, "possibly by multiple vehicles," while attempting to cross the freeway on foot.

No vehicles remained at the scene, FWPD told WFAA.

WFAA Traffic Anchor Tashara Parker reported on Daybreak that all westbound lanes of I-30 in the area were shut down.
