Lanes reopen on Interstate 30 in Fort Worth after water main break causes shutdown

TXDOT confirmed that the main break caused water to flow from the service road to the eastbound lanes of highway.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police say lanes are now open on Interstate 30 after a flood completely closed it off Monday morning.

The water affected the eastbound lanes of the highway near Oakland Boulevard. The eastbound exit for Oakland remained closed Monday afternoon.

TxDOT Fort Worth confirmed with WFAA that a 16-inch water main break caused the water to flow from the service road to the highway.

At around 7:15 a.m., WFAA reporter Chris Sadeghi said the water had stopped moving onto the roads and started to go away.

For now, it's not clear what caused the main break. Police say 11 businesses nearby were affected, but all residents have water.

As of Monday afternoon, three businesses nearby business were without water.

The city hoped to have the water break fixed completely by Tuesday.
