Police searching for suspect in deadly hit-and-run on I-30 in Dallas

The crash occurred early Wednesday morning and closed several lanes of Interstate 30 near Buckner Blvd, officials said.

DALLAS — Traffic was backed up for several miles on Interstate 30 this morning as Dallas County Traffic Deputies worked a fatal hit-and-run crash, officials said. 

The accident occurred on eastbound I-30 at Buckner Blvd around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, according to a statement from the Dallas County Sheriff's office on social media. 

The suspect hit a pedestrian and then drove away. Officials said that deputies are looking for a grey 2017-2020 Honda with front-end damage and damage to the passenger-side headlight. 

Eastbound I-30 was shut down at North Jim Miller Road, officials said. By about 10:30 a.m. the accident was cleared from the roadway.
