Driver found with gunshot wound inside crashed car in Fort Worth, police say

Officers arrived and found a person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, according to Fort Worth police.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A person was hospitalized Thursday morning after being found with gunshot wounds inside of a crashed vehicle in Fort Worth.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were called to the scene of a crash in the 2800 block of Miller Avenue at 12:16 a.m.

Officers arrived and found a person in the crashed vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, police say. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with "life-threatening" injuries, according to FWPD.

It is unclear at this time where the gunshot came from.

Police said no one else was injured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing and gun violence detectives have been notified, FWPD said.
