DALLAS, Texas — If the North Dallas Tollway (DNT) is part of your weekend commute, you might need to find a new route.
All DNT southbound lanes will be closed between IH-635 and Walnut Hill Lane from late Friday, June 7 to early Monday morning, June 10 for ongoing repairs to the Meaders Lane bridge.
According to the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), repair work is needed after a truck carrying oversized construction equipment struck and damaged the bridge.
Here's the full list of closures from NTTA:
Closure: Beginning Friday, June 7 at 10 p.m. through Monday, June 10 at 5 a.m.
- All lanes of southbound DNT from I-635 to Walnut Hill Lane.
- East and westbound I-635 to southbound DNT direct-connector ramps
- Southbound Harvest Hill Road, Inwood Road, Forest Lane. and Royal Lane entrance ramps
- Southbound Royal Lane exit ramp
- Northbound left lane of DNT from Park Lane. to Royal Lane
- All lanes of east- and westbound Meaders Lane over the DNT
Detours:
- Eastbound Meaders Lane: Drivers will turn north on Inwood Road and make a right on Royal Lane. They will turn right at Preston Road. and continue to Meaders Lane.
- Westbound Meaders Lane: Drivers will turn north on Preston Road, make a left on Royal Lane, turn left at Inwood Road and continue to Meaders Lane.
Signs will be set up near the area to inform drivers about the closure. Any closures may be delayed due to weather conditions. Central Expressway (US-75) and Preston Road are viable alternate routes to the DNT and are also free to drivers.
