FORT WORTH, Texas — A fatal crash shut down Interstate 20 in south Fort Worth early Friday morning, officials said.
The crash happened on westbound I-20 at Hemphill Street. One person died and four others were being treated for minor injuries, according to MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky.
All westbound lanes of the highway were shut down as crews responded to the crash.
Westbound traffic was backed up for about a mile as traffic was being diverted off the highway. Hemphill is the first exit past Interstate 35W, so I-35W could be an alternate route for drivers.
