Rain causes high water on North Texas roads, officials say

Water could be seen over the roadway at Interstate 30 and Interstate 45 in Dallas, a common area of ponding in heavy rain.

DALLAS — If you're hitting the roads Wednesday, take caution. High water areas were being reported on several roads in North Texas, as morning rain showers moved through the region.

Water could be seen over the roadway at Interstate 30 and Interstate 45 in Dallas, a common area of ponding in heavy rain.

Water was also ponding on Interstate 30 at Green Oaks Boulevard in west Fort Worth.

Also in Fort Worth, at least two cars got stuck in high water at 28th Street and Decatur Avenue. The drivers were able to open their doors and get out safely, as they waited for a wrecker to pull their cars out.

Colleyville police closed several low areas where high water was crossing the road: Bedford Road, Oak Knoll, Cheshire, Jackson Road and Martin Parkway.

No injuries or rescues were being reported Wednesday morning, though the rain was expected to continue into the early afternoon.

The rain was also expected to cause minor flooding of the Trinity River in Dallas. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the river, saying low water crossings near the river could flood.

The Weather Service also issued a flood warning for White Rock Creek in Dallas.

LIVE RADAR:
