DENTON COUNTY, Texas — Traffic on northbound East Sherman Drive in Denton was blocked at North Loop 288 because of a semi-truck that overturned early Wednesday afternoon.
The condition of the driver of the semi-truck was not immediately known. Drivers were advised to find a different route.
The entire county fell under a Severe Thunder Storm Warning and Tornado Watch Wednesday. Heavy rain hindered visibility and caused ponding on the roads.
Denton police stated the reason for the accident is being looked into, but that wet roads could result in more accidents. They reminded drivers to be cautious by reducing speed, maintaining distance between vehicles, and make sure headlights are on.
Traffic was also moving slowly along In Denton County on I-35 southbound at Loop 288.
