DART riders to experience travel delays after I-345 fire truck crash damaged rail lines

DART will have 21 shuttle buses running at six of the affected rail stations. Commuters should expect substantial delays.

DALLAS — DART officials say commuters should expect "substantial delays" after a fire truck fell from I-345 onto DART tracks.

The accident caused significant damage to DART tracks, causing the transit authority to cease rail operations downtown.

Repairs are underway and could go into Wednesday evening.

"It fell at a critical location where four of our lines kind of intersect, impacting our entire network," said Jeamy Molina, Spokesperson for Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

Riders are asked to allow extra time for their commute. "If you could at least add an hour to your commute, that would be very beneficial," said Molina.

To accommodate rail customers, DART has 21 shuttle buses driving between stations.

Buses will be available at the following stations:

  •  Cityplace/Uptown
  •  Deep Ellum
  •  Pearl/Arts District
  •  West End
  •  EBJ/Union
  •  Victory

During the repairs, drivers will be impacted too. Southbound N Central Expressway to San Jacinto is closed on Routh Street/N Good Latimer Expressway.
