Two people were seriously injured in a major crash involving three-vehicles Thursday on northbound Interstate 45 in southern Ellis County, officials said.

The Peterbilt truck also swerved to the left and sideswiped another vehicle, authorities said.
It was initially reported as a fatality crash to DPS Troopers by EMS. But as Troopers continued to work the scene, EMS corrected their information to reflect that no one was killed, officials said.
The driver and passenger were the Ford F-150 were both transported to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. Authorities said the drivers of the other two trucks were not injured in the crash.
