DALLAS — DroneUp will now be able to deliver to more parts of the DFW metroplex after the company received a certification from the FAA, the company announced.
The company received a Part 119 air carrier certificate for operation under Part 135 from the Federal Aviation Administration, according to a press release from DroneUp.
The release states that the certification allows the company to operate as an air carrier, allowing DroneUp to transport deliveries beyond the visual line of sight and over populated areas.
DroneUp will now have authorization to fly drones to an expanded delivery radius of up to 5 miles, the release states. The company will now expand to more areas of DFW, including Collin County, a spokesperson for the company said.
"DroneUp will continue to work with the FAA to expand its operation to fly further, carry more and expand to more communities," the release states.
