DUBLIN, Ireland — A grandson and his grandfather found a creative way to practice their musical skills while isolating during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mom Caroline Gallagher caught the adorable moment on camera in Dublin, Ireland.
In the video, her son James jams on the guitar with his grandfather via video chat. Their song of choice, "I Want to Break Free," by classic rock band Queen, couldn't be more timely at a time when many people worldwide are feeling the stifling, though necessary, effects of self-isolation.
"Grandson and Grandad want to break free in Dublin," Caroline wrote in a post on Twitter.
According to TODAY, James has been taking guitar lessons for about a year and has continued remotely during the pandemic. This week, he learned "I Want to Break Free," and wanted to share it with his grandfather, who played the song on the piano, according to the report.
As many cities have implemented social distancing measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus, people across the globe have found creative ways to stay busy and in touch with friends and family members.
“I think something like Queen is something that my father would have loved and James loves, so there’s a commonality there between different generations. It’s lovely that they can share that and especially in finding new ways to connect virtually in this time of COVID-19," Caroline told TODAY.
