DALLAS — The Dallas Wings revealed Monday that Satou Sabally will be on Germany's roster for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Sabally has yet to play in a game for the Wings in 2024 after undergoing a shoulder procedure during the offseason.
But, it looks as though she will get the chance to represent her nation on the world stage despite being currently sidelined. Although the Wings hold one of the worst records in the WNBA, her team is eager to welcome her back to the hardwood after the Olympic break in August.
Nicknamed "The Unicorn" for the unique skillset she brings to the court, Sabally helped Team Germany qualify for its first-ever Olympic Games after beating Brazil and Serbia in February.
Germany begins pool play on Monday, July 29 against Belgium. Germany's group phase continues on Thursday, Aug. 1 against Japan and concludes against the United States on Sunday, Aug. 4.
In her four seasons in a Dallas Wings uniform, Sabally has averaged 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds. She was voted as the league's Most Improved Player for 2023 and earned First Team All-WNBA accolades.
