Dallas ISD schools could earn a teacher's lounge makeover through contest hosted by Dallas Wings

Schools within the Dallas Independent School District can apply from March 18-April 19.

DALLAS — Faculty and staff in the Dallas Independent School District will have the opportunity to revamp their teachers' lounge.

Applications are now open for The Dallas Wings' second annual "Teachers' Lounge Makeover" contest, presented by the Dallas Wings Community Foundation, Dwell With Dignity and American Fidelity.

Here's how it works: DISD schools will submit a creative video explaining why their school should be the winner of the 2024 Teachers’ Lounge Makeover. The video length should be between 1 to 3 minutes long.

The deadline to enter the contest is April 19, and the winning school will be notified in May. A formal announcement will be made on Teachers' Appreciation Day, May 7.

Last year's winner was Speer Elementary in Arlington. The upgrades to the teacher's lounge included a new sofa, an upgraded workstation, a popcorn machine, a Keurig coffee maker, and personalized artwork. The lounge was also outfitted in school colors, while also featuring Dallas Wings paraphernalia, including framed Arike Ogunbowale jerseys.
