DALLAS — Dallas Wings star guard Arike Ogunbowale will be recognized at Dallas City Hall for winning the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game MVP award last month.
Wednesday, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and City Council members will recognize Ogunbowale for her achievement. The event will happen in City Council chambers at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Ogunbowale put on a record-setting performance to earn the award, scoring the most points in a single quarter for the WNBA All-Star Game with 21. Her 34 total points helped lead Team WNBA to a 117-109 win over Team USA.
This was her second time winning the award; her first win came in 2021, where she scored 26 points in a 93-85 win over Team USA.
Ogunbowale was drafted by the Wings in 2019 and has been named an All-Star in four of her six seasons in the W.
