We now know where the USA, Mexico and Canada could play all their 2026 FIFA World Cup matches. Here's a breakdown

The host nations were assigned their groups for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and FIFA revealed 24 potential sites for training camps.

ARLINGTON, Texas β€” FIFA revealed Wednesday which groups that the host nations of the 2026 World Cup – United States, Mexico and Canada – will compete in during the tournament, revealing where each team could play if they made it passed the Group Stage and to the Knockout Stage. 

The United States will play in Group D. Mexico will play in Group A. Canada will play in Group B. The rest of the field of 48 teams, the largest World Cup in history, is still to be determined. World Cup qualifying is currently underway and won't be finalized until March 2026. 

Where will the United States play their World Cup matches?

The U.S. Men's National Team's (USMNT) group matches were announced back in February. Their opening match will be played at SoFi Stadium. They'll stay on the West Coast and play their second group stage match at Lumen Field in Seattle (Friday, June 19, 2026), before returning to Los Angeles to close out group play at SoFi again (Thursday, June 25, 2026).

Now, with their group placement, we know the potential sites they could play in the Knockout Round, depending on where they finish. If USMNT wins their group, the path in the knockout stage would be the following: 

  • Round of 32: San Francisco
  • Round of 16: Seattle
  • Quarterfinals: Los Angeles
  • Semifinals: Dallas
  • Final: New York

If the United States finishes second in their group, here is their Knockout Round path: 

  • Round of 32: Dallas
  • Round of 16: Atlanta
  • Quarterfinals: Kansas City
  • Semifinals: Atlanta
  • Final: New York

Where will the Mexico play their World Cup matches?

Mexico will play the Opening Match for the entire World Cup on June 11, 2026 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Their second and third group stage matches will be in Guadalajara and again in Mexico City. Here is Mexico's path if they win their group:

  • Round of 32: Mexico City
  • Round of 16: Mexico City
  • Quarterfinals: Miami
  • Semifinals: Atlanta
  • Final: New York

If Mexico finishes second in their group, here is their Knockout Round path: 

  • Round of 32: Los Angeles
  • Round of 16: Houston
  • Quarterfinals: Boston
  • Semifinals: Dallas
  • Final: New York

Where will Canada play their World Cup matches?

Canada's first match in the 2026 World Cup will be held at BMO Field in Toronto, home of MLS club Toronto FC, June 12. Their second and third group stage matches will both be played in Vancouver. 

Here is Canada's path if they win their group:

  • Round of 32: Vancouver
  • Round of 16: Vancouver
  • Quarterfinals: Kansas City
  • Semifinals: Atlanta
  • Final: New York

If Canada finishes second in their group, here is their Knockout Round path: 

  • Round of 32: Los Angeles
  • Round of 16: Houston
  • Quarterfinals: Boston
  • Semifinals: Dallas
  • Final: New York

FIFA also announced Wednesday a list of 24 sites that could potentially host the 48 participating countries' training facilities, or "base camps." Nine cities outside of the host cities for matches are included as potential sites. The final decisions will be determined by a lottery, FIFA said.
