LIST: AT&T Stadium didn't get the World Cup Final, but it still has more total matches, knockout round matches than any venue

AT&T Stadium will have more total matches and knockout stage matches than any other hosting venue.

ARLINGTON, Texas — AT&T Stadium didn't get selected to host the 2026 World Cup Final, despite numerous reports over the years. 

Instead, they'll host one of the two semi-finals, alongside Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium and eight other World Cup matches bringing Arlington's total to nine, more than any other hosting venue. Here is a full breakdown of the matches AT&T Stadium will host:

How many 2026 World Cup matches will AT&T Stadium have? 

Nine total matches and four "knockout stage" matches. These are the matches and dates coming to North Texas:

Group stage

  • Sunday, June 14, 2026
  • Wednesday, June 17, 2026
  • Monday, June 22, 2026
  • Thursday, June 25, 2026
  • Saturday, June 27, 2026

The participating teams in these matches have yet to be determined. We won't learn who are playing in these matches until teams qualify, likely in the months ahead of the tournament.

Knockout stage

  • Round of 32: Tuesday, June 30, 2026
  • Round of 32: Friday, July 3, 2026
  • Round of 16: Monday, July 6, 2026
  • Semi-final: Tuesday, July 14, 2026

When will the World Cup take place?

The World Cup Opening Match will be held at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on June 11, 2026.

The World Cup final is set for Sunday, July 19, 2026.
