HIGHLIGHTS: Musa scores hat trick in FC Dallas five-goal outburst against Minnesota United FC

It was FC Dallas' second win in a row and their first five-goal match since 2021.

FRISCO, Texas — Two matches into the Peter Luccin era, and FC Dallas has won two in a row.

Facing Minnesota United FC for the second time this month, Saturday's match went very differently than it did at the beginning of June. The 1-1 draw in Saint Paul marked the end of Nico Estevez's tenure for FC Dallas.

Led by Petar "Moose" Musa, FC Dallas defeated Minnesota United 5-3 at Toyota Stadium. Musa snagged a hat trick to increase his season goal output to eight. Jesus Ferreira and Logan Farrington added one each. It was FC Dallas' first five-goal game since they beat Austin FC on the road, 5-3, in 2021.

“Feels amazing, especially in front of our fans. We won, and that is most important. I scored three goals but I am really happy that we won today,” Musa said after the game.

FC Dallas improves to 20 points on the season. They'll hit the road on Saturday to take on the Seattle Sounders.

“I’m thankful and grateful for the effort from the players. It’s very important for me that the effort has been fantastic. I’m very pleased with some of the sequences that we had, playing good football and very vertical," Luccin told reporters post-game. "Overall, the goals that we conceded, sometimes we need to be a little bit smarter. All the players have been fantastic. Five goals at home, I think the fans were very happy. I’m sure they would’ve liked fewer goals conceded but it’s part of the game. We are making progress. It’ll be step-by-step but you can see the attitude from the players is excellent. They want to play, they understand. Now we need to adjust to find that balance. I really think we deserved to win. Maybe against St. Louis it was a little different but tonight I think we deserved to win.”
