HIGHLIGHTS: FC Dallas falls to FC Cincinnati on 'Video Game Night'

The loss marks FC Dallas' second loss in a row after dropping a 2-0 lead against Seattle last week to lose 3-2.

FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas dropped its second game in a row after falling 1-0 to Eastern Conference powerhouse FC Cincinnati.

FC Cincinnati entered the match with a remarkable 7-1-1 record on the road this season and added another win to their impressive road success. FC Cincinnati's only road loss came back in April when the team lost 2-1 to CF Montréal. They've gone on to win six out of six away from their home fans.

FC Dallas hadn't lost at home since mid-March when the club fell 3-1 to the Vancouver Whitecaps. A six-match unbeaten streak at home (four wins, two ties) was broken with the 1-0 loss Saturday night.

“It wasn’t a good game. We had chances where we generated something, but it was not enough to win a game at home against a strong team like FC Cincinnati. In the last 20 minutes, we pushed through with heart," FC Dallas head coach Peter Luccin said. "We had a shot hit the post, but they also had two chances; one was almost a 1v1 with the goalkeeper and they missed. Our pressure has not been what it should be, and that goes for everyone, the players, me, and the staff, too. We looked inexperienced. After three games, which have been very good, the performance of this game is not the image we should be portraying. We lost another player tonight, Liam Fraser, so we are playing a lot of young players. That is a silver lining, but we have to do a lot better. I am very disappointed about the game.”

Watch the post-match press conference here:

FC Dallas' best chance to score came in the 68th minute when midfielder Sebastian Lletget got out on a slow break and fired a left footed shot from outside the box that pinged off the post.

“To be fair, I feel like we beat ourselves up today. We had chances in the first half and then were more dangerous in the second half. We are very naive in the way we play, we don’t have that killer instinct. It’s the small details that just pile up throughout the season," defender Nkosi Tafari said.

FC Dallas returns to Toyota Stadium again on July 4 to take on the Portland Timbers.
