FRISCO, Texas — Days before the 2024 MLS season kicks off, the league's pundits and writers gathered to give predictions for where they think clubs will finish in the standings.
Remember, the top nine teams in each conference, East and West, make the playoffs. Seventeen people voted on where they think each club will finish, and they averaged out the scores to put together the rankings.
How do the MLS experts see the season shaking out? Here is a look at their predictions for the standings in 2024:

In the eyes of MLS pundits, FC Dallas will improve on its 7th place finish from a year ago, rising three spots to the No. 4 seed. The voting for FC Dallas had quite the range of answers. Some view the club as a top-tier club in the West, while a couple have them missing the playoffs entirely. Most, though, do have FC Dallas as a playoff team. Here is how each person voted:
Vegas seems to not be as optimistic about FC Dallas as the MLS pundits, though. According to Bet MGM, FC Dallas holds the 11th-best odds in the Western Conference out of 14 teams (and 20th-best overall out of 29 total teams) to win the MLS Cup.
