How does a team replace its top scorer?

The Stars are facing that challenge in the final weeks of this season after dealing Patrick Eaves to the Anaheim Ducks in February.

Since Eaves’ last game with Dallas on Feb. 18, Dallas’ goals-per-game number sits about a quarter of a goal below its average before that date.

Eaves had scored a team-leading 21 goals when he departed for the West Coast. WinnersView dug a little further into those goals, though, and found that a good chunk of them came on clean-up duty near the net, or on a Stars powerplay.
