DALLAS — One of the NFL's top tight ends could be facing a fine for the NSFW T-shirt he flashed during the win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, according to reports.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the league was considering fining George Kittle for the "F--- Dallas" shirt he flashed during the game. Kittle had an exceptional day, grabbing three touchdown passes in the game. He revealed the shirt while celebrating running back Jordan Mason's 26-yard touchdown in the end zone at the end of the 49ers' 42-10 rout.
Under the terms of the NFL's fine schedule, personal messages carry a fine of $10,927, ESPN reported.
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons addressed it on his podcast after the game, too.
“Kittle’s my guy but [I’m gonna] say this: Laugh now, cry later. We got something for that, just trust,” Parsons said. “If we see them again, just trust. And we gonna put it just like that. I ain’t gonna put too much on it. You gonna make it personal? We can make it personal, that’s cool.”
Kittle seemingly paid homage to Gary Plummer, a former 49ers linebacker, who wore the same shirt when San Francisco dethroned the two-time defending champions in 1994. The four-time Pro Bowl tight end made an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, where he talked about being mildly inspired" by Plummer.
"It's just there's some things that need to be worn for the franchise, and I think it's just coincidence that it just happened to appear on my chest on 'Sunday Night Football,'" Kittle said.
Dallas has not beaten San Francisco in the playoffs since 1993, with that 1994 loss starting their three-game playoff losing streak to the rival from the NFC West.
