'I know I'm going to be a Cowboy' | Micah Parsons congratulates Dak on deal, addresses his own contract situation on podcast

The Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher also congratulated Dak Prescott on his new deal.

DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys have locked up two of their three big stars with looming contract situations.

First, CeeDee Lamb inked a new four-year, $136 million deal in late August. Then, hours before kickoff of Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, Dak Prescott became the league's highest-paid player at $60 million per year.

The third cog in the Cowboys star trio, pass rusher Micah Parsons, is next on the docket to get paid. On his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons," he congratulated his teammate for securing the bag and addressed his mindset regarding his own future with the Cowboys.

"I know I'm going to be a Cowboy," Parsons said. "There's nothing like Cowboy Nation. I think the love is very mutual."

Parsons is in the final year of his rookie deal and is next up for a big payday.

Parsons joked that when he heard the terms of Prescott's deal, his jaw dropped.

"I can never be broke again if Dak Prescott owes me money," Parsons quipped.

A three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro, Parsons' next deal will likely make him the NFL's richest defensive player, or at least make him among the top-paid in the game. San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa currently is the league's highest-paid defensive player with a deal that averages $34 million in annual value.

For now, though, Parsons is focused on winning games.

"I want to win those big games. I want to win those playoff games, get to the Super Bowl. For me, the contract is not really what I'm worried about," Parsons said.

Dallas is 1-0 after beating the Browns in Week 1 and will host the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
