Mattress Mack places bet on Dallas Cowboys to win NFC Championship

Dallas hasn't made a Super Bowl since the last time they won it all ... back in 1995.

DALLAS — Notable Texan Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, known for placing high wagers on Texas sports teams, is all in on the Dallas Cowboys.

McIngvale, who is apparently a lifelong Cowboys fan, placed a $200,000 bet on the Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC Championship and go to the Super Bowl. He placed the bet Monday afternoon before the Cowboys-Bucs game with +650 odds, according to a video released announcing the wager.

If Dallas comes through, McIngvale would receive a payout of $1,450,000.

Here's a look at McIngvale's announcement

McIngvale recently bet $1.5 million for TCU to win the national championship – a bet that would have yielded $5.55 million – but obviously lost that one after the Horned Frogs were defeated by Georgia.

McIngvale won $75 million after wagering $10 million between several sportsbooks on the Astros winning the World Series last season. As an Astros superfan, he's placed numerous bets on the Astros over the years.

Since he's disclosed his Cowboys fandom, maybe we might see another large wager on the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl if they make this first bet come true?

Time will tell.

Dallas' next opponent in the playoffs are the No. 2 seed San Francisco 49ers.

The sportsbooks have the Cowboys as an underdog in the NFC Divisional round, but another metric predicts a Cowboys win. Click here for more on that story.
