Detroit Lions respond to Dez Bryant no-catch call

Lions players felt like karma came back to bite the Cowboys Sunday.

One week after an overturned pass interference call in the Cowboys' playoff win over the Lions became the hot topic around the NFL and on social media, refereeing will once again take center stage.

Dez Bryant made a Herculean effort on a fourth-and-two with just over four minutes to play and the Cowboys trailing by five. Bryant's leaping catch over Packer defensive back Sam Shields looked to put Dallas at the one-yard line and in perfect position to take the lead.

But it was ruled that Bryant did not "complete the process" of the catch, turning the huge play into a turnover on downs. Dallas didn't get the ball back.

The Detroit Lions, who many thought were denied the chance to move on to the divisional round to play division rival Green Bay by officiating, took to twitter with reaction.

That tweet, of course, in reference to Calvin Johnson's catch against Chicago in 2010 that was overturned because of the same "process" rule. That call was the first of several that have taken away catches by receivers.

Lions tight end Eric Ebron had no sympathy.

He would later tweet that Dez got robbed. Ebron's creative emoji usage is seemingly a reference to a popular internet meme of Kermit the Frog drinking tea. Detroit running back Joique Bell was also on his emoji game, posting only a smirking face to his account about 40 minutes after the Cowboys' season was over.

Corey Hilliard, an offensive lineman for the Lions, called it "poetic justice."
