Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn interviews for Broncos, Colts head coaching positions

Under Quinn, the Cowboys in 2022 had the fifth-best scoring defense (20.1 points per game) in the NFL.

DALLAS — Buckle up, Cowboys fans. Your team's defensive coordinator is being sought after.

Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn finished two rounds of interviews on Friday – one for the Denver Broncos head coach position and the other for the Indianapolis Colts head coach position – just days ahead of the NFC Divisional game against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cardinals, who also have a head coaching vacancy, have also requested an interview with Quinn, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero reported that an interview with Arizona has not been scheduled yet, so any possible talks between the Cardinals and Quinn would likely be pushed until after the Cowboys-49ers game on Sunday.

Quinn was the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons from 2015 to 2020 and led them to the Super Bowl in 2016, which they famously blew a 28-3 lead. The Falcons gradually declined in the seasons to follow, going 7-9, 7-9 and 0-5 before Quinn was fired mid-season.

Quinn came to the Cowboys as the defensive coordinator in 2021, where he has revitalized the defense in many ways, taking advantage of the talents of players such as Micah Parsons, Trevon Diggs, DeMarcus Lawrence and others. Diggs led the NFL in interceptions (11) in 2021 and Parsons was the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and two-time first-team All-Pro.

Under Quinn, the Cowboys in 2022 had the fifth-best scoring defense (20.1 points per game) in the NFL.
