Dallas Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz reads children's book on food insecurity to DFW elementary school

Biadasz read the book as part of a volunteer project with the North Texas Food Bank.

DALLAS — Elementary school students in DFW got to meet one of the Dallas Cowboys players on Tuesday as part of a volunteer project with the North Texas Food Bank.

Center Tyler Biadasz went to White Rock Elementary School in Richardson to read students the children's book Hunger Bugs Me!, which teaches about food insecurity. 

Hunger Bugs Me! is a story about friendship and compassion written with the goal of enabling a conversation about the issue of hunger; making it easy for children to understand this complex problem.

Biadasz was joined by Lady Bug, a character from the children’s book.

In the book, Ladybug and her friends embark on an adventure in Jan’s Garden at the NTFB Perot Family Campus to help their friend, Butterfly, who is facing hunger.

The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) in partnership with Atmos Energy, recently donated copies of the children’s book to 785 elementary school libraries across the 13 counties served by the North Texas Food Bank.
