Micah Parsons injury: What's the status of the Dallas Cowboys star linebacker?

When the Cowboys arrived back in Dallas early Friday morning, Parsons could be seen walking very gingerly to his car.

DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys got a big win Thursday night against the New York Giants, climbing back to .500 after back-to-back poor performances from the defense. And the defense certainly bounced back, holding the Giants to just 15 points, all of which came via field goals.

But Dallas didn't escape New Jersey totally unscathed.

Star linebacker Micah Parsons had to be carted off the field in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury. After the game, reporters asked Parsons about the condition of his injury in the locker room.

"Right now, I just iced it, you know, I know very little. I got an MRI tomorrow and I'm going to try to get back next week," Parsons said.

The good news for the Cowboys and Parsons: He got X-rays done Thursday night, and those came back negative.

Parsons will presumably get the MRI done on Friday, so the team should know more about his status soon.

When the Cowboys arrived back in Dallas early Friday morning, Parsons could be seen walking very gingerly -- and even limping noticeably -- as he walked toward his vehicle.

Parsons had two tackles, including one for loss, in the win Thursday night. An interception by defensive back Amani Oruwariye sealed the win for the Cowboys, who held off the Giants' last-ditch effort at scoring a touchdown.

The Cowboys will get a few days extra rest before starting preps for a road trip to Pittsburgh on Oct. 6, a matchup that will be featured on Sunday Night Football.
