Dallas Cowboys mascot Rowdy fires up fans during the NFL football team's training camp Monday, July 31, 2023, in Oxnard, Calif.

DALLAS — As we head into the 2024-2025 NFL season, many football fans have an idea of how they would rank each team and even most position groups across the league.

Among these position groups is one that tends to be overlooked, but it's arguably the most important for a team's swagger, entertainment and overall morale -- and no, I'm not talking about fullbacks. I'm talking about mascots!

Casino CA, a website that compares Canadian casino sites, polled 2,000 NFL fans to find out their rankings from best to worst.

Dallas Cowboys fans should be happy to know that their official mascot, Rowdy, ranked No. 3 with a score of 4.17 out of 5. Additionally, 89% of Dallas Cowboys fans feel mascots add to the game experience and 67% feel it's due to their entertainment value, according to the survey.

Now, let's break down what the survey considered to get to this ranking.

Casino CA's survey asked NFL fans the following questions:

  • Which is your favorite NFL mascot?
  • Which NFL mascot is the most intimidating/scary?
  • Do you feel mascots add to the game experience?
  • What do you like most about mascots?

The survey also found Rowdy ranked No. 16 in terms of the intimidation factor. Which, if you know anything about Rowdy, whose hobbies include lifting weights, horsing around and wrangling wins, this isn't too much of a reach.

The famous Cowboys mascot ranked below the Buffalo Bills mascot, Billy Buffalo, and the Kansas City Chiefs mascot, K.C. Wolf.
