Dak Prescott accuser drops sexual assault lawsuit in Dallas County to move case to Collin County, lawyer says

Yoel Zehaie, the attorney for the accuser, confirmed to WFAA that they dropped the Dallas County case to move the case to Collin County.

DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — The woman who is accusing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott of sexual assault has dropped her lawsuit against him in Dallas County, and is instead moving the case to Collin County, her attorney confirmed.

Documents in Dallas County said the accuser's attorney submitted a request for a "non-suit without prejudice," which was filed on April 8. That means the accuser is voluntarily giving up the case, but she could re-file if she wants to.

A judge signed the order last Friday, April 12.

Yoel Zehaie, the attorney for the accuser, confirmed to WFAA that they dropped the Dallas County case to move the case to Collin County "for purposes of convenience," since Collin County is where Prescott filed suit against the woman on allegations of extortion.

Zehaie said reports that their lawsuit against Prescott has been dropped entirely are "misleading."

Prescott's attorney, Levi McCathern, reiterated Prescott's denial of the allegations in a statement to WFAA on Wednesday morning.

"Her allegations are completely false and this is all a continuation of the extortion plot against Dak," McCathern told WFAA. "It is truly sad for the true survivors of sexual assault that people try to use our system to enrich themselves at the expense of others. The good news for Dak is I am confident the truth will prevail in this matter."

Last February, Prescott's team were allegedly sent a letter from the woman's legal claiming he sexually assaulted her in Feb. 2017. According to court filings, she demanded $100 million in exchange for not reporting to police.

Prescott's team then filed a civil countersuit and a criminal report in March. His lawyers denied the allegations and claimed the Cowboys QB was the victim of an "extortion plot."

Following Prescott's countersuit, the woman's lawyer sent a statement to WFAA doubling down on the accusation.
